UNDP Digital X Solution

In 2022, Jamii.one was selected as a UNDP Digital X Solution. Jamii.one was one of the 120 selected out of 4,000 digital solutions as a solution with proven traction. Digital X was created to find, match, and scale proven and innovative digital solutions with the urgent needs of UNDP offices around the world.

Inclusive Fintech 50

In 2022, Jamii.one was recognised by Center for Financial Inclusion (CFI) as part of the 2022 InclusiveFintech50 cohort. Inclusive Fintech 50 (IF50) is a global innovation competition that aims to identify and elevate cutting-edge emerging inclusive fintechs that have the potential to drive financial inclusion.

Ethiopian Ministry of Women and Social Affairs

In 2022, Jamii.one was recognised by the Ministry of Women and Social Affairs for the efforts Jamii.one gave in the establishment of the National Iddirs Coalition Council. Jamii.one played a vital role in the creation of an Iddir Council on the national level.

Winner Danish Digital Awards

In 2023, Jamii.one won first place for Digital Value Proposition and third place for Innovation at the Danish Digital Awards. The Danish Digital Awards aim to reward and highlight the most inspiring, effective and well-executed digital work that develops or supports a company’s business activities. Jamii.one was recognised for our efforts of providing a digital solution for a huge market need and creating a more inclusive financial ecosystem in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Nominated for EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2021

In 2021, Jamii.one nominated for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2021 in the category of "Social Entrepreneurship - Future Impact". The EY Entrepreneur of the Year award aims to recognise and celebrate exceptional entrepreneurs, inspiring others to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams while fostering economic growth and creating a supportive network of successful business leaders. Mastercard Lighthouse MASSIV Finalist

In 2020, Jamii.one became one of the top three finalists of the competitive Mastercard Lighthouse MASSIV Program, partnered by Nordic Impact Funds and Danske Bank. The accelerator program matched us with an advisory board of experts from Mastercard, Google, Western Union, and beyond, who helped us elevate our long-term partnership strategy.  Almost a year later, we continue to benefit from the teachings of the program, which played a vital role in our company’s strategic development. 

Winner Nordic Fintech Award for Financial Inclusion

In 2020, Jamii.one won the Financial Inclusion award at the Nordic Fintech Awards. The Nordic Fintech Awards are dedicated to recognizing exceptional fintech startups that are geared towards social impact. By creating the digital foundation for financial inclusion, Jamii.one is helping to reduce poverty. We are proud and grateful to have received this award in recognition of our social impact.

NGO Partnerships in Ethiopia

Pilot project: Bridging the Digital Divide

Launched in 2020, this ongoing project is digitalising 5,000 Ethiopian women’s savings and loans groups. This is in partnership with 25 NGOs and the Ethiopian government’s Ministry of Women, Children & Youth (MoWCY), Ministry of Innovation (MiNT), and Federal Cooperative Agency (FCA). The initiative aims to increase the digital literacy of at least 100,000 Ethiopian women while laying the foundation for financial inclusion of these low-income women.
