Buying Insurance:
5 Step Guide
If you and your Iddir decide to buy the Group Life Insurance, you must download the Jamii.one app (only one smartphone per group needed) and onboard your group and its members on the app.
Once you have done so, you can purchase the life insurance cover by the following 5 steps:
-
The Iddir leaders should set up an enrollment deadline for members to decide who will purchase the insurance premium at the earliest opportunity.
All members wishing to purchase insurance must submit their full legal name along with the desired insurance option to their Iddir leaders by the deadline.
We recommend that the deadline be set after 3-5 days after the decision to buy has been made.
-
The Iddir leaders has the responsibility of monitoring and correcting the accuracy of the information of the members who register for the insurance. This includes the following:
Verify that the member’s serial number is correct.
Ensuring that each member’s name, patronymic name and surname are legal and correctly spelt.
Verify the above mentioned information is stated correctly in the Jamii.one app of Jamii.one. A Jamii.one Data Organiser can help you (contact number can be found below).
-
The Iddir leaders must forward the first-time registering form with the consent form to your assigned Jamii.one Data Organiser.
The registered membership number and full name list sent to Jamii.one will be final and legally binding.
You can download the consent form at the bottom of the page.
-
Jamii.one will send the Iddir’s member information directly to Nib Insurance when they have cross-checked and verified the document.
Jamii.one will inform the Iddir leaders when they have sent the information to Nib Insurance.
-
The members who want the insurance coverage will pay the Iddir the policy price OR the Iddir can make decision to spend the group savings to pay the policy for members. This is the decision of the group.
The payment should be conducted by bank transfer from the group bank account to Nib Insurance Company’s bank account.
After purchasing the premium, the Iddir group should print and sign the contract. Then the Iddir leaders can scan or take a photo of the singed contract and send it to support@jamii.one.
Once the purchase has been registered, the Iddir leaders will receive a stamped version of the signed contract.
Insurance Compensation:
3 Step Guide to
Insurance Claim
In the event of death of an insured member, the Iddir must file an insurance claim to Nib Insurance to request the life insurance payout. Then Nib Insurance will make arrangements.
Kindly follow the below process to file an insurance claim:
-
In the event of death of an insured member, the Iddir leaders must immediately notify Nib Insurance by letter. This will help Nib Insurance to start making the necessary arrangements for payment.
You can download the Nib Insurance notification letter form at the bottom of the page. -
After the notification letter has been submitted to Nib Insurance, the Iddir must get the death certificate from the local authorities and submit it to Nib Insurance.
The name of the deceased member must be the same as the name of the member in the data that Jamii.one sent to Nib Insurance at the time of purchase.
-
Nib Insurance will deposit the insurance payout in the account number provided by the Iddir leaders within two working days after the applicant submits the death certificate.
The Board of Trustees is responsible for handing over the compensation received from Nib Insurance to the requesting party.
Insurance Renewal
Renewing your current life insurance on time is crucial because it ensures that you continue to have financial protection in the event of your passing. If you miss the renewal by even a day, the waiting period applies again, leaving your family without immediate access to the benefits they may need during a difficult time.
-
Jamii.one calls and notifies your Iddir the time for renewal and current prices, at least 45 days ahead.
Iddir marks this date as the last date for renewing contract
